  • Advised and counseled students who were experiencing academic and personal risk factors in order to increase persistence and retention.
  • Advised multiple cohorts of the Beach Learning Community–students required to complete two or three semesters of remediation within their first year.
  • Identified course success markers for Theatre Arts program using 10+ years of historical student data to determine barriers to graduation.
  • Developed and coordinated outreach campaigns based on a review of student academic performance data such as GPA, course completion rate, admission cohort, and program success markers.
  • Developed and presented training materials and strategies for using the Course Schedule Planner at Student Orientation, Advising and Registration workshops.
  • Consulted with the Beach Learning Community (BLC) Coordinator to develop a working model for the new program website using Drupal CMS.
  • Developed and implemented online workshops for the Beach Learning Community on topics relevant to the population, such as major exploration and learning skills.
  • Collaborated closely with the Theatre Arts department chair to compile student data into reports pertaining to graduation, retention and persistence, and full-time enrollment.

  • Assisted and counseled new freshman and transfer students in the evaluation of transcripts, general education and graduation requirements during Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) workshops.
  • Produced promotional videos, handbills and posters for departmental hiring, campus programs and resources using various desktop software including Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Created and maintained website layout and mockup for the First Year Experience (FYE) program to present campus resources to incoming students, and collaborated with other campus departments and services to provide the most up to date information to students.
  • Co-facilitated the hiring and training process of new SOAR Peer Advisors, as well as supervise all student assistants during orientation workshops.
  • Created and co-facilitated in-person and online workshops for first year students on managing degree progress using the Academic Requirements Report in collaboration with the University Center for Undergraduate Advising.
  • Created and maintained the First Year Experience program membership database and tracked student attendance at live and online workshops offered by the program.
  • Developed online evaluations for the Student Orientation, Advising and Registration and First Year Experience program workshops, and analyzed the results into reports for the Dean of Students using Survey Monkey and Qualtrics Survey Software.
  • Converted live workshops offered by the Learning Assistance Center to asynchronous online modules that students access via BeachBoard, the CSULB Learning Management System.
